Darrell Bricker is one of Canada’s key analysts focused on understanding the future shape of our country. He will provide club members with a provocative and insightful look at our collective future. Featuring his most recent book NEXT: Where to Live, What to Buy, and Who Will Lead Canada’s Future (listed as one of Canada’s best business books of 2021), he will talk about what will be foremost in the minds of Canada’s business and political leaders over the next two decades.

Dr. Bricker will also talk about how Canada fits into the global context. The world is going through a massive demographic disruption, but few are talking about it. We can already see the effects in Europe and parts of Asia, as aging populations and worker shortages weaken the economy and impose crippling demands on healthcare and social security. The US and Canada are well-positioned to successfully navigate these coming demographic shifts – that is, unless growing isolationism leads us to close ourselves off just as openness becomes more open to our survival than ever.
