Kathleen O’Day Wynne, 25th premier of Ontario 2013–18, member of provincial parliament representing Don Valley West 2003 – 2022, school trustee, community activist, mediator, and teacher. The skills of a mediator, coupled with a strong sense of will, propelled Kathleen Wynne’s political career, making her Ontario’s first woman premier and Canada’s first openly gay head of government.
Kathleen has served as Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Education and Minister of Agriculture and Food. Kathleen has three adult children and six grandchildren. Kathleen and her partner Jane lived in North Toronto for more than 30 years.
